MTF Events, the organisers behind the Mumbai Travel Fraternity Cricket League, is set to foray into the exhibitions space with the launch of Melange.

Debuting on September 19 at the Jio Convention Centre, BKC in Mumbai, this exclusive two-day event aims to elevate the standards for travel trade shows in India.

While facilitating industry engagement and knowledge-sharing, Melange will serve as a platform for business partnerships and brainstorming sessions on cutting-edge technology, industry insights, and analysis for this ever-evolving sector.

Talking about this platform, Pradeep Saboo, Co-Founder of MTF Events and Organiser of Melange, said, “Melange as a concept is a complete package combining roadshows and exhibition formats. The differentiating factor is the level of quality. We are following stringent quality control to ensure exhibitors and buyers get value for money. The motive is to ensure that there are serious buyers who mean business and not just walk-in visitors without any clear aim. Alongside, we will allow counter staff of agencies to visit the exhibition from morning till 1pm. This will also give them a first-hand experience of how the industry functions.”

Starting at 11 am, the event will run until 7 pm, with final entry restricted to 4 pm. Entry for Counter Staff will be till 1pm. Post 7 pm, there will be industry networking in a casual format. Plans are also underway to offer meals as part of the package, which other exhibitions do not cater to.

Saboo added, “A key factor for participating in the event is that exhibitors and buyers are pre-approved, ensuring they offer retail services. Non-registered exhibitors or buyers will be denied entry, regardless of the segment they cater to.”

Announced just last month, Melange by MTF Events is making waves in the travel industry as it gears up to become a landmark event. Scheduled for September 19-20, 2024, at the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai, the show is set to attract travel trade professionals from across India.

Pradip Saboo, Co-Organiser of Melange and Founder Member of MTF Events, highlighted the unique nature of this event, stating, “Melange is a hybrid model in between a trade show and a road show. Though the venue is iconic and the setup will be grand, the visitors will be serious buyers and not just casual strollers or non-serious players.”

Saboo also mentioned plans to incorporate food and beverage elements to enhance the experience for both exhibitors and visitors. Additionally, there may be a party after 7 pm at the venue, adding another layer of fun and excitement for all attendees.

The MTF Events team aims to gather around 150 exhibitors and 2000 genuine buyers representing approximately 1200 travel agencies. Travel experts from cities like Pune, Nashik, Surat, Kolhapur, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Amravati, Navsari, Baroda, and Aurangabad will be present, showcasing the event’s wide reach.

Prominent brands such as Resorts World Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Cordelia Cruises, Ottila International, Atmosphere Hotels & Resorts, BINGO, Guideline Travels, ARK Travel Group, and Sun Siyam have already registered as exhibitors, signalling the show’s potential success.

Emphasising the exclusivity of the event, Saboo added, “A very important aspect of the event is that all present at the venue are either exhibitors or genuine approved buyers. To be an approved buyer, one needs to be in retail travel operations and not part of any B2B activity. Be it an airline, hotel, DMC, rep company, or even a tourism board, unless they are an exhibitor, they unfortunately can’t attend the show.”

While India already hosts some of Asia’s biggest travel trade shows like SATTE and OTM, carving out a niche for another show might seem challenging. However, with Melange being organised by travel trade experts of the industry, it presents a promising opportunity and a positive outlook, standing true to “By the industry, for the industry concept”.
